The Ultramarine star is inspired by concepts of the deep sea—as the Latin words “ultra” and “mare” translate directly to “beyond the sea.” The color ultramarine is also derived from the pigment of Lapiz Lazuli, which became the national gemstone of Chile in 1984. The star is a homage to my home country and my love for the mysterious deep sea—all strung together in a beaded white chain.
